Well on Dec 21 2011 A Idiot Pulled in front of me to get into a Target Parking Lot.And Both cars were Totalled. Mine was a 1996 Ford Bronco Last year they were made. I bought it in October of 2011 He got the Ticket and I got screwed by His Progressive Insurance. They Totaled My Bronco and would only payout $3100.00 But I owe $4900.00 they said oh it’s unfortunate but thats all we will pay so sign the Truck over to us. I feel Like Im being treated as the one who caused it. When I told them I wanted to see what my own Insurance would say. They said if I talked to them they would wash their hands of the whole thing. Now I can’t get another vehicle until the Gap Insurance pay’s the remainder of the Loan.Progressive is a total bunch of Push Starts Gondie MFO’s I guess watch who hit’s you from now on. They suck and will screw you. there’s so much more I want to say about this whole thing I guess I’ll have lot’s of time while I ride a bus to work because they only paid for 3 day Car rental. fookers.

Progressive sucks!! My car was hit while I was in the grocery store doing my shopping. Apparently a Progressive policy holder parked next to me and when exiting their stall turned right into/over my car. Damaged front quarter panel, headlight and ripped most of the bumper off my car. They also did damage to my impact bar that is under the bumper.

It took 4 days for Progressive to accept liability for the accident and their adjuster that came out to look at my car missed some of the damage. I had to call him back out to reasess!! I had a feeling that they were low balling the estimate and I did some research and found that they were planning on putting some of the damaged pieces from my front bumper back on my car!! They also intend to put non OEM parts that are NOT certified on my car. I advised that I will not accept this, my car is only 2 years old and is still under factory warranty and they will void my warranty by putting a headlight on my car that is not OEM.

My normal body shop that I take my car to refused to give me an estimate on my car when they found out that I was going to have Progressive take care of the claim instead of going through my own insurance because I did not want to pay the $500.00 deductible. My body shop advised me that they MUST use Progressive’s estimate so there is no point in giving me one. This of course alarmed me as the car is owned by me, not Progressive, so why is the shop treating this like Progressive is the client and not me? At this point, I became alarmed with this whole situation. I decided that I will NOT use my normal shop and that I needed to get other estimates.

I did NOT take my car to my chosen body shop because of this and lined up two estimates for the next two days. When Progressive found out from my shop that I refused their services they got pissed. They called me and told me that I had to take my car to the shop (this is the first time they have called ME since this began). I told them I needed my own estimate before I would authorize repairs on my car. I told them it took 4 days to decide to accept liability so I figure I have 4 days to decide who I want to fix my car. They told me that they already did an estimate and that was how my car would be fixed. I told them that was fine if they believed that, but the car is MINE not theirs and I was getting other estimates before I was allowing anyone to touch my car.

I took my car to another body shop and got an estimate. Sure enough, Progressive is low balling the estimate as I believed, my estimate is actually $1200.00 more than what they estimated the damage at!! The body shop told me that some of the parts that Progressive wants to reuse can NOT be reused as they are damaged!! They also told me that they do not like to work with Progressive because Progressive always gives low estimates, uses non OEM parts and wants your car to be fixed in the cheapest manner which means the repairs are NOT what they should be. When I told the body shop what insurance I have they advised me to use my insurance and let them subrogate for payment. My insurance will fix my car as it should be.

There are many other issues that I had with Progressive while waiting for them to accept liability. They never once returned any of my calls, I had to chase the police report, I had to call their policy holder to have them take care of the ‘issues’ Progressive claimed they were having. This company did none of the work, I did. I have never had this issue before and I have unfortunately had to deal with a few other companies in the past 8 years as everyone seems to think that my car is a target. I have actually been rear ended 4 times while stopped at red lights and this happened every October for 4 consecutive years. Because of these accidents, I have had some experience with a few different insurance companies and Progressive is the only one that I had to do everything for.

So, buyer beware, if you have Progressive Insurance watch your back, you might just end up getting sued if you are at fault. Your insurance company sucks and not all of us are willing to let them bully us and allow inferior work be done on our car.

My nephew’s wife was driving her pickup going home after work when a woman with progressive insurance on purpose rammed her several time from the rear. My nephews pickup rolled several times. She did not get hurt but really bruised and sore. The car that rammed her was covered by progressive. The woman driver said she did it on purpose and now the insurance company doesn’t have to pay or won’t pay.. Progressive refused to pay for anything. This happened on Friday night and Monday am they refused.
I will take some appropriate action with a couple of legislator friends and see how they like being auditied by the state insurance board.
Also the progressive agent that was a jerk is going to get audited by the IRS.
I too can inflict suffering on them one progressive rep at a time.
It’s my turn now.

Now for those of you that changed or are going to change insurance companies. Do not go to Farmers insurance. They are just as bad if not worse and you will get screwed by them too. Farmers insurance group sucks.com
Just a fair warning that cheaper is not better. research them befor you hand over your hard earned money.

Progressive, like most auto insurance companies, is mediocre.

Many people who are with companies that have agents have had a bad claims experience,too.

As a consumer, you need to educate yourself on coverage, look at customer satisfaction ratings for insurance companies, as well as trying to get the best price.

You need to shop to find the best combination of price and customer service.

You don’t get better claims service by paying more for insurance.

What a horrible company.. Some crazy b!t*h claims I hit her while her POS was broke down across the street from my house, she calls the police on me forcing me to give her my insurance info. I call Progressive and let them know what is going on and that there is no damage to my truck, they go out to her place take pictures and issue her a check with out even so much as looking at my truck. Then I go to switch my policy and the new insurance company tells me that there is two at fault claims on my DMV filed by Progressive, so what happened is they filed a claim on me calling in to report the non-accident and then file a new one when the psycho calls in. I called them up and talked to a manager complaining about how they handled the situation giving my side of the story again and he calls me a lier. So guess what they paid out on a false claim and also lost a client so they will never get the money back. BTW the new company i went with is cheaper with the so called accident on my record. Screw progressive, Screw you FLO go blow a big fat donkey dick.

With Allstate for 20 years..my car was parked at a Walgreen’s minding it’s business, and some guy hit my parked car, would say he was impaired, called the police, private property so they didn’t come, he has progressive, it took them a week to return my call and another week to tell me he was at fault, bottom line the shop would fix it for 2800, progressive would only pay 1300, because the car was hit before i owned it, Ive ask for them to fix my car back to looking new before there guy hit it..looks like we will be going to court..

I am not insured by Progressive but I was recently in an accident with a driver who has Progressive. I was behind a crazy driver who pulled over to the side on a highway and then decided to make an illegal U-turn over a double yellow line right in front of me. I had two seconds to stop and ended up hitting the corner of his back bumper. His car barely had a scrape and my poor little car had $1500 worth of damage. Progressive decided that since I hit him on the back bumper that I rear ended him and that they are not responsible for the damage to my car, leaving me with a messed up car and a $500 deductible. What a pathetic excuse for an insurance company. How can they possible rationalize these poor business practices? Even though I am not a Progressive customer now I never will be and will continue to tell everyone I know NOT to do business with Progressive.

THE Only two trusted names and quality names in the industry are kemper and hartford!!!!as in aarp or just hartford..ins.
not allstate,farmers,statetarm,or low-ball(riffraff-crusie-ships i.e. carnni-crusies..types nationwide-the gen-geico-and progressive all bottomend welfare,or bottombarrel-t-mobile cellphone lowballs are worth a shit..the saying goes you get what you are willing to put out!!!my aarp plan covers not three but 5 cars one is a 1978 transam orig owner and classically ins. for $10,000 wife and myself and a 18 yrold girl still in the hs all with 1/2 a mill limits!!!!that’s 500/300 and the max on all other issues for a mere $1,500 a yr!!!that’s $1500 a yr not six months of-course our records and credit scores are clean and damn good!!what’s so great about hartford ins is i’ve claimed several comp/claims one requiring a full repaint job on one of ’5′ cars and a $7500 t-bone hit aon a 3month old new car we no longer have.and immediately traded after the repairs hartford paid and waived our mere$1,000 col/deduct. did i mention my comp deduct is a mere $100? that full repaint was $2800 it cost me a mere $100 on a 2002 s10 beloved 2whl p/u best damn SMALL p/u i ever bought and still own will never ever buy anything bigger or other than chevy! so look ito hartford or kempper they are picky as far as record and credit scores once you are in they don’t do a check but once a yr at renewal…stay away from all those whom advertise on tv or radio esp geico i’ve heard far worse horror stories from el-cheapo yoyo’s who had geico policies and are now paying thousands for a serious accident!!!again attention riffraff you get what you pay for!!!

Progressive is a joke! My husband & I have had Progressive for over 10yrs. A deer run into the side of my vehicle & cause some damage. We I filed my claim, the representative was referring different places around the area. I picked one & dropped it off over the weekend. It was to get looked at on a Monday. I stated I only want a estimate. The adjustor called my husband & gave him a estimate of $1200, but more information was needed & he was going to call me. When I received the call no estimate was given to me, rather I was told what they might not cover. After the call I called the mechanic shop to tell them I would be by to pick up my vehicle. I was told they had already started making repairs. I did not authorize any repairs to be made on my vechicle. Now Progessive is making up all kinds of stuff to avoid paying for repairs that I did not authorize. They have even went so far as to say since I dropped my vehicle off over the weekend then I expected them to repair it…
